Hi, my name is Adrian TRUFiT Mckenzie and I am a Performance Wellness Specialist dedicated to helping others achieve mental resilience and peak performance. I utilize a holistic approach by looking at how all areas of our lives are connected as a whole. My journey has been one of transformation, from overcoming severe depression to becoming a beacon of holistic health and wellness.
My Story
In my early 40s, my life took a turn for the worse. I found myself depressed, unmotivated, overweight, and extremely unhappy. The all-too-common mid-life crisis was compounded by some personal and professional events, and I hit an emotional rock bottom. I found myself severely depressed to the point of contemplating my existence. Why am I here? Do I really want to be here? When you find yourself in a depressive state, it is very easy to start having thoughts of suicide.
I NEVER thought that would ever be me. Why? How did this happen to me? The unfortunate thing is, I was in a very dark place mentally and was not equipped with the necessary tools to handle the stresses life was presenting at the time.
Fortunately, I was able to turn my life around and start enjoying life AGAIN. For those who find themselves in a similar position, you too can turn it around.
After all the personal and professional events in my life and literally hitting an emotional rock bottom, I reached a point where I knew I finally wanted to make a change. I woke up one day and said to myself, I don’t want to live like this anymore.
After a few unsuccessful attempts at getting professional help, I began a quest to solve my own inner demons, insecurities, and bad behaviors. I was, and continue to be, on a mission to find answers. I was desperate for more information, so I did research every opportunity I had.
Through advancements in modern science and groundbreaking technologies, there is now the capability to understand a lot more than we did 20 years ago. I continued to uncover more about the latest studies and started implementing the changes that were being suggested. During those moments, the journey of life for me continued with a new focus, a new purpose, a new meaning, a new me. I used exercise, nutrition, and mental conditioning to rebuild my life post-40. I felt very fortunate that I had the know-how to physically get myself back into shape. I also started doing mental exercises that were instrumental in reversing my depression.
As I continued to learn more, it became very important to watch what I was putting in my body. Nutrition became very important to me—nothing extreme, just wiser choices. This also had a profound impact on how I viewed nutrition for my children.
I started setting specific goals and, more importantly, monitoring them until success. At the time, I didn’t know what was really happening. It wasn’t until I had the opportunity to reflect on what I did to help myself that I realized the significance.
The TRUFiT Philosophy
TRUFiT is not just about physical fitness; it’s a holistic lifestyle. It’s about making sustainable changes that improve your overall well-being. Being TRUFiT is not about being in great shape, getting a six-pack, or coming first in a race. TRUFiT is a lifestyle; it’s a way of life. You have to change your lifestyle AND change it in a way that is sustainable.
I wanted to create a wellness philosophy that would help you completely restart your health and wellness philosophy, making life changes to live a more productive, healthier, and balanced life.
Achievements and Mission
I have spent years refining my approach, setting specific goals, and monitoring progress to ensure success. My mission is to share this knowledge and inspire others to make meaningful changes in their lives. I believe that with the right direction, motivation, and support, you can achieve things you never thought possible.
Going in the right direction and having the right motivation and support will help you do things you never thought you could do. If you are struggling with confidence and self-esteem, I truly believe there are things you can start doing right now to begin your transformation.

Life can become difficult at times, unbearable with feelings of hopelessness, no self-worth, or lack of confidence. It’s not about how hard you get hit down; it’s about how you get back up.

I know how you feel but truly believe if you can get your mind right, things will start to get better, and you can build from there. When was the last time you trained the most important muscle in your body, your brain?
I want people to know and understand that you can change your life no matter what it is. If you are really ready to make that change. My goal is to reach into an individual and bring out what they are truly capable of. We are so much stronger than we think we are. Finally wanting to make a change and having the ability to make it happen are two challenges. I knew that there were and still are many people out there looking to make a change but don’t know how.
